My Antonia Story

  If the story was told from Antonia's perspective it would of changed the whole book due to the fact that Jim and Antonia do not have the same thoughts. All the characters would be told in Antonia's perspective of them. The setting would be a bit depressed because of her father dieing. Her life story would be more clear instead of changing from one person to another like Jim did.

Cather is a very good writer because me myself could not tell that Jim the character was written by a women. She did a good job portraying a man's point of view. It is difficult to say what Jim sounds like because it is as if Jim is trying to tell the story through Antonia's eyes.

Jim knew Antonia like no one else did , they were best friends. He had feelings for her, and wanted her to be his therefore, My Antonia.

The Effects of Setting

The winter has affected the Shimerda family because Mr.Shimerda suicided himself and the wife was left a widow and the kids including Antonia were left fatherless. The winter was at its worst and all started on Jim's eleventh birthday. Antonia cant go work on the fields because of all the blizzards.

Commentary 1. There is a difference between gangbangers and graffiti arist by the way there use a spray can in a positive or negative way.

Commentary 2. Graffiti artist try to convince gangbangers who can graffiti good to use graffiti in a positive way not negative way.

Remembering 9/11

  9/11 was one of America's most tragic events. This was not the first time that the World Trade Center had been attacked, but it was the first time it had been attacked by airplanes. 9/11 did not just happen in New York it also happened in Washington DC, where a plane hit the pentagon. The planes that hit the World Trade Center had been high-jacked by terrorist.

 The World Trade Center had been bombed before, and they had to recreate it. Which lead to the building that were brought down on 9/11. The Towers were rebuilt in 1968 and were finished 1971. They lasted from 1971 to 2001, they lasted 30 years. This was the first time The World Trade Center was hit buy airplanes and brought down. No one had expected it that day or any other day.

  World Trade Center wasnt the only place hit on 9/11. The Pentagon was the second place hit on September 11,2001. This is when America knew they were under attack. The Pentagon was hit an hour or two after the world trade center was hit. Now America remembers the place were the World Trade Center used to stand as "Ground Zero."
